The Weather Inside

A fine art poetry collection by Michele Nagle

The Weather Inside began as a way to survive my own storms.

Not with answers, but with images that let me stay—in the ache, the stillness, the becoming. Each poem holds a kind of weather: grief, desire, silence, return.

They weren’t written all at once. They surfaced slowly—scraps from journals, fragments tucked between ordinary moments. I wasn’t trying to write a book. I was just trying to stay honest.

What I didn’t know then is that I was naming the weather inside me, one unfinished line at a time.

This isn’t a story with an arc—it’s a landscape. A record of feeling too much and disappearing anyway. Of returning.

If you’ve ever tried to name what’s hard to name, you’re in the right place.

Welcome.

About the Book

If you are standing in the wreckage of fear,

if you are still breathing,

you are not broken.

You are building something holy

from the inside out.

The Weather Inside is a fine art poetry collection built from the pages of Michele Nagle’s personal journals—written in the quiet aftermath of survival.

These aren’t conclusions. They’re fragments of feeling. Words for those still living through it. Paired with hauntingly beautiful AI-generated imagery, each visual is a mirror for the accompanying poem—a dreamlike representation of emotion made tangible.

This book becomes a kind of inner weather map—tracing storm systems of grief, clarity, longing, and return. A space for stillness. A space for recognition.

I Am Both

I am the one who speaks

too loud

in quiet rooms.

The one with restless hands

and bigger plans,

always reaching

before I ask if I should.

I start things.

God, I start things.

Projects,

fires,

the kind of sentences

that don’t end where they began.

The Mirror Cracks

We raise banners for empathy,

then cut down anyone who stumbles.

Our mouths sing care—

our hands draw lines in the sand:

too shallow to protect,

too deep to cross.

Made of stars,

we raise minds toward brilliance—

and still,

we turn them on each other.

Smarter than gods

with none of their patience,

we burn what feeds us

and call it progress.
